18th Century Mourning Ring

A museum quality mourning ring, the outside edge with beautiful perfectly matched pearls, representative of tears for the lost loved one.  The centre is a hand-painted miniature on ivory, of a woman standing over an urn.  Surrounding the miniature is French writing, translating to “Forgive the Wish That Would Keep Thee Here”
