18th Century Mourning Ring

“I love you to the ashes” is the declaration of eternal love, made to Daniel Grimbal Chabanel, aged 30 and inscribed in French on the face of this mourning ring from 1776.

The image of an urn under a weeping willow is hauntingly beautiful on an ivory coloured background. An extremely rare survivor from 18th Century France.
