18ct Gold Pocket Watch circa 1850 by David Glasgow

Movement by famous Watchmaker David Glasgow (1824-1911) and case by George Henry Harwood (GHH hallmark seen inside). Ticking along nicely after a recent service.

Still in it’s original box by the watchmaker himself, stating the address of 20 Myddelton Square, Clerkenwell, London.

The watch has a nice clean face, free from damage with black roman numerals and hands to the dial, and cobalt blue enamel roman numerals to the outside cover. Monogram to the reverse cover for PB.

David Glasgow was the President of the British Horological Institute, and penned a book entitled Watch and Clock Making in 1893.
