18ct Edwardian Gold Buckle Ring Chester 1909
Wonderfully chunky 18ct Gold Buckle Ring, symbolising fidelity, loyalty and commitment. Like today, buckles were commonly used as fasteners for belts and straps, and their function as a secure closure was associated with the idea of binding or holding things together. Weighing in at a substantial 8.4g, the charm of this ring, besides its romantic meaning, is its highly polished surface, contrasting with the gold chasing applied to the buckle and loop.
12 mm wide, currently a size L but resizable within a few sizes either way. From the Edwardian era, and hallmarked in Chester in 1909.
